Exceptional and complete late-Victorian Regina disc music box set, circa 1897, including the main quarter-sawn oak tabletop music box, matching/original style oak cabinet stand with disc storage, and 18 metal discs. The discs are 15 1/2 inches in size and carries U.S. patent dates consistent with the 1890s production period. The box retains its hand-crank, original-style interior lid art, molded case, and decorative line inlay. The stand features dedicated vertical disc slots, carved wreath-decorated lower doors, cabriole legs, and a pull-out side shelf.
Plays beautifully and produces a sort of magical sound that only these antique music boxes can provide. This is a very well-kept, heirloom level piece with strong display presence.
